Partner
Kieran joined Feuerstein Kulick LLP in 2022 and leads its office in Oakland, California. Kieran has focused his work on cannabis industry clients since 2016, and represents many of California’s industry leaders including cultivators, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers.
Kieran’s work includes complex regulatory and compliance issues in the industry. He is one of the few lawyers to represent licensees in contested administrative proceedings under the state’s cannabis regulatory system. He has also served as an expert witness on state and local cannabis regulatory issues.
Relying on his two decades of litigation experience, he also regularly handles significant litigations in the cannabis industry. This includes thorny ownership and control disputes where cannabis licensing and regulatory issues are central, real estate controversies involving cannabis licensing, and intellectual property disputes arising from cannabis products. Kieran also brings his subject matter expertise to advise on mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions in the industry.
Kieran has regularly been asked to speak to educate lawyers and business leaders on cannabis issues and has been featured in numerous media outlets and podcasts.
Prior to joining Feuerstein Kulick LLP, Kieran was the Managing Partner of Ringgenberg Law Firm PC, which served the cannabis industry since 2016. Before that, he was a partner with Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, where he focused on complex civil litigation and represented several of the world’s largest and most successful companies in antitrust and intellectual property matters.
Kieran graduated from NYU School of Law, where he was Executive Editor of the NYU Law Review. After law school, he clerked for Pasco M. Bowman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
